FreeDry Flex Desiccant Dehumidification Systems

EI Solutions expands the FreeDry product line with the FLEX series offering a variety of designs to easily align with your facility’s heating and cooling systems while controlling space humidity.

Purposely designed to reactivate the desiccant dehumidification wheel using fluid coils, the FLEX allows clients to take advantage of site available central plant utilities and waste heat from energy recovery efforts or comes equipped as a self-contained system when provided with a packaged boiler or a water source heat pump. This flexibility allows clients to better manage installation and operational costs. Additionally, using hot fluid for reactivation completely eliminates the corrosive products of combustion associated with gas fired systems which greatly extends the life of the desiccant wheel and the unit overall.

The base FLEX model is provided with a reactivation fluid coil ready for site connection to an existing hot water loop. Additional fluid coils can also be included to add cooling and winter heat to the base unit.

FLEX models with a packaged boiler arrive pre-piped.

Facilities opting for the self-contained water source heat pump option use reclaimed waste heat from the on-board compressors to reactivate the desiccant wheel while the cooling side provides pre and/or post cooling. As a bonus, the same system can direct fluid flow to a supply air hot water coil for space heating.

The performance and efficiency of the FreeDryFLEX series is optimized through the on-board controller’s proprietary programming. EI Solutions brings over 25-years of development experience to every logic loop that is written into the control sequence.

The EI Solutions FreeDryFLEX delivers an energy smart desiccant dehumidifier intended to control space humidity in a wide range of commercial, institutional and light industrial applications.

All FreeDryFLEX Models Include:

  • The process begins with the intake of ambient air from the surrounding environment, which typically contains moisture in the form of humidity.
  • The incoming air is directed through a desiccant wheel or rotor, which contains a desiccant material such as silica gel or molecular sieve.
  • Active desiccant dehumidification wheel formulated to deliver low dew point air
  • Hot fluid reactivation coil
  • Supply and reactivation fan arrays for redundancy, quite operation and ease of maintenance
  • Dampers to control outside air volume
  • Filters
  • Microprocessor controls package with BMS compatibility
  • Double wall foam panel construction
  • Access doors for every important service point

Standard FreeDryFLEX Options:

  • Additional fluid coils for pre and post cooling and heating
  • Energy recovery wheel and exhaust fan module
  • Boiler module (gas or electric)
  • Water-source heat pump module
